Chef Tyler was born in Toronto and grew up in Brampton where he started his culinary career at Jake's Boathouse. Jake's is a steak and seafood restaurant that makes all food from scratch. It has garnered a reputation for having a high standard of quality for food and service, keeping them in business for over 40 Years. Tyler worked at Jakes for 4 years advancing from the prep cook to Chef de Partie. After Jake's Tyler worked for The Hourutunian Group, owners of The Mustard Grill, 10 Restaurant, O'Toole's, Coyote Wild's, & Dick's Grill and Vine. This Job advanced Chef Tyler's culinary skills into fine dining and satisfying his passion for raw ingredients. Tyler has worked as an Executive Chef for the past 12 years. Over his 30 years of experience in the industry, Tyler has worked as a Freelance Restaurant/Foodservice Consultant for Florentina's Italian Restaurant, Three Small Rooms Fine Dining, as well as corporate cafeterias for many companies including, Adesa and Staples. From 2018 to 2023 Tyler has been working as Executive Chef at The Monk's Kettle Gastropub in Etobicoke. In 2019 The Monk's Kettle Won #1 Pub in Toronto from the Readers Choice Awards by The Toronto Star. The Monk's Kettle also won the #2 Hamburger in Toronto 2020 and #1 for Food And Drink by the Campbell's Soup Company. In 2020 Chef Tyler was nominated the #1 Chef in Toronto by the 2020 Readers Choice Awards contest, won #3 Chef in Toronto and won #1 Local Chef in Etobicoke May 2020. Currently I am now working as Head Chef at Spirit Tree Estate Cidery, the premier tourist destination in Caledon. Spirit Tree Estate Cidery is widely recognized for it's hard ciders in restaurants and the LCBO, it's one of a kind french style bistro with a wood burning pizza oven and live outdoor events.
